How Pulse Plugs are different than spark plugs
Pulse plugs are a radical departure from spark plugs. For 100 years, spark plugs have remained much the same as they are today (history of the spark plug) generating only 50 watts of peak discharge power. Pulse plugs look like spark plugs because they must fit precisely into the same space a spark plugs. But this is where the similarity to the spark plug ends.

Pulse plugs incorporate a pulse circuit, which stores incoming electrical energy from the ignition system and releases the stored energy in a powerful pulse of power.
